How to Use the Padel Americano Generator
- Add every player’s name, one per line.
- Pick the number of courts you have booked.
- Choose the points per match. Most groups play to 24.
- Set the number of rounds. With eight players on two courts, seven rounds means everyone partners everyone else exactly once.
- Create the draw. Then type in one team’s score after each match, and the other team’s score fills itself in.
If a player drops out or someone new turns up, just edit the names and create a fresh draw.

How Does a Padel Americano Work?
An Americano is a social format where you change partner every round. Each match is played to a set number of points, usually 16, 21, 24 or 32, and every point your team wins goes into your own total. Because both teams keep their points, a close defeat still counts for something.
At the end, the player with the most points wins. As a result, nobody is knocked out, everyone plays roughly the same number of matches, and newer players can mix happily with stronger ones. The official rules of the game are set by LTA Padel, but Americano scoring is something your group agrees between yourselves.
Who serves in an Americano?
Most groups have each player serve a few points in a row, often four, before passing the serve on. Agree this before the first match so nobody argues about it later.
What if the numbers do not divide by four?
That is fine. The generator rotates who sits out, so over the evening nobody misses more than one round more than anyone else.

Americano vs Mexicano: what is the difference?
A Mexicano works like an Americano, with everyone playing a set number of points and scores going on a leaderboard. The difference is how the pairs are drawn. In an Americano, partners rotate on a fixed schedule, so everyone plays with everyone. In a Mexicano, the first round is random, and after that the pairs are set by the leaderboard.
As a result, the top players end up playing each other, and so do the players lower down. As a result, matches stay close all evening, which suits mixed ability groups. An Americano, on the other hand, is better if the aim is for everyone to mix.
How Americano scoring works
Each match is played to a set number of points, usually 16, 21, 24 or 32, rather than games and sets. Every point you win counts towards your own total, whoever your partner is. For example, if your pair wins a match 15 to 9, you and your partner each add 15 points to your scores.
Serves usually rotate every four points, so each of the four players serves the same number of times. At the end, the player with the most points wins. Our generator keeps the leaderboard for you as you go.
Padel Americano FAQs
How many players do you need for an Americano?
At least four, for one court. Eight players on two courts is the classic set up, but the generator handles up to 32.
How long does an Americano take?
A match to 24 points usually takes somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes. So seven rounds fills roughly two hours of court time.
Is this Americano generator free?
Yes. There is no sign up, no app and nothing to download.
What is a good number of points for an Americano?
Most groups play to 24 points, which takes 15 to 20 minutes a match. Play to 16 if you are short of time, or to 32 for longer matches.
Is Mexicano or Americano better?
An Americano is better for mixing, because everyone partners everyone. A Mexicano is better for close matches, because the leaderboard sets the pairs after the first round.
