Editorial Policy
This editorial policy sets out how The Padel Review chooses what to cover, where our facts come from, how we pick the kit we recommend and how we put things right when we get them wrong.
The short version
- We pick kit for UK players on fit, value and UK availability. Commission never decides the order.
- Every important fact comes from the original source, and we link to it.
- Every Monday morning we sweep the court directory, events pages and news stories, so nothing goes stale.
- Spot a mistake and we fix it, then say on the page what changed.
Who writes The Padel Review
Matt writes The Padel Review, under the name Padel Matt. The site comes from two people who have loved playing padel for more than eight years, but Matt does all the writing and makes the final call on everything that goes live. He uses AI tools to help with research and first drafts, and our AI use disclosure explains exactly where.
How we choose the kit we recommend
Most of our buying guides are research led. In other words, we read the specs, compare UK listings and go through what UK buyers say after a few months of use. When a pick comes from time on court with it, the page says so. Otherwise, we do not pretend.
Then we rank picks in this order:
- Who it suits. Level, playing style, power or control, and head shape.
- Whether you can buy it in the UK. We skip rackets you can only get by importing them.
- Value. Last season’s model at a good discount often beats this year’s.
Shop the kit we rate
- The Padel Review is reader supported, so some links earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you.
- Our affiliate disclosure lists every partner.
Where our facts come from
We go to the source first. If a figure matters, such as a court count, a price or a result, we link to where it came from so you can check it yourself.
| What we cover | Where the facts come from |
|---|---|
| Club and court listings | The club’s own website or booking page, then Playtomic |
| New club openings | Club announcements, local news and planning notices, linked in each story |
| Pro tour results and calendars | Premier Padel, the FIP and the official tournament sites |
| UK events and GB teams | LTA Padel, the organisers and the clubs taking part |
| Racket and kit specs | The brand’s own product page, checked against UK retailer listings |
| Prices and deals | The retailer page, on the date shown on our page |
We never make up quotes. When someone is quoted on the site, we name them and link to the interview, post or press release.
How often we update
- Court directory. We check every region every Monday morning for openings, closures and new courts.
- Events pages. We refresh the UK padel tournaments pages every Monday morning with new dates, entries and results.
- News stories. We add results once a match or event finishes, rather than leaving a story half told.
- Buying guides. We revisit them when new models land or prices move a lot.
Money and independence
Affiliate links pay for the site. Still, no brand or shop can pay for a better spot in a guide. Clubs never pay to appear in the directory either, because the listing is free and stays free. If a brand sends us kit, the page will say so.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, email thepadelreview@168marketing.co.uk with the page and the problem. Clubs can send new prices, opening dates and photos the same way. We check it, fix it on the page and add a short note saying what changed.
